WE NEED YOUR SUPPORT TO SAVE LIVES!
Due to extremely dangerous new counterfeit medications laced with lethal doses of fentanyl, the overdose deaths in Monterey County are skyrocketing. Fentanyl is a very powerful opioid, up to 100x more potent than morphine, and is most often an unknown ingredient to the consuming person. Carfentanil, the most potent fentanyl analog detected in the U.S. and highly likely to make its way to Monterey County at any time, is estimated to be 10,000x more potent than morphine.
As reported by The Monterey County Weekly, “The total number of opioid-related deaths – including fentanyl – for 2019 in Monterey County was 93, a 933-percent increase over 2018.” Full article here.
“Fake Oxycodone pills are flooding Monterey County,” said U.S. Attorney Anderson. “These fake pills are laced with fentanyl. The drug dealers who are pushing these fake pills couldn’t control the amount of fentanyl in them even if they cared. Fentanyl is dosed in micrograms. Dealers don’t have the equipment or the ability to control what they are selling. Our young people are dying by the score from ignorance and indifference.”
